TOP FIVE TUESDAY ♡ BOOKS I SEEM TO BE AVOIDING

Hello friends and happy Tuesday! It’s been a very long and tiring day and I am just looking forward to curling up with my book for the rest of the night. So I think the topic for today’s Top Five is gonna be quite interesting. It looks like it could go down the negative route but I don’t think that at all. I came upon this topic because every time I’m in my room or figuring out what to read next, there always seems to be certain books that I just don’t want to pick up right now. I don’t know if it’s because of what I’m in the mood for or there’s just something from preventing me from doing so. Either way, I intend to explore this and figure out what my deal is because I gotta read these books eventually.

Here is today’s Top Five Tuesday: Books I Seem To Be Avoiding!

1. GODSGRAVE BY JAY KRISTOFF

I’ve had this book sitting in my room since I bought it in February and I’ve made no notion of picking it up, even though I did enjoy the first book of this series. I don’t really know what it is but there isn’t much inclination for me to jump back into this series right now. I’m wondering if it’s due to how I felt about Kristoff’s writing style and it’s not something that excites me about continuing. I’ll have to read it eventually because I bought it but it’s the time that seems questionable.

2. HEARTLESS BY MARISSA MEYER

Listen, I love Marissa Meyer so much and of all the books I’ve read by her so far I’ve loved, but when I look at Heartless I don’t think “hey, I should read that next.” I want to, believe me I want to, but things keep getting in the way and I guess that makes me feel like I’m avoiding it. And you’d think with it being by an author I enjoy and being a retelling it’d be a book I’m just itching to get my hands on, and I do have it, but I just don’t see it having any importance on my TBR as of now.

3. WAR STORM BY VICTORIA AVEYARD

In my defence, this only came out this month and I’ve been very busy but at the same time, I don’t have that need to run to the bookstore and buy it. The previous book fell really flat for me and finishing the series isn’t particularly a must for me right now. I enjoy it as a whole, I guess, but the only character I’m here for right now is Cal but I’m not really in the mood to deal with the rest of the nonsense. I’ll eventually get to it but right now I’m not into it.

4. A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY BY LIBBRA BRAY

This is a book someone else rec’d and lent to me and I haven’t even humoured the idea of touching it for at least two years now. And I have no idea why. It sounds like a really interesting book and something I’d enjoy but there isn’t anything in me that says I need to read it right now. Part of me wonders if I’m just gonna end up avoiding this book forever. I can’t explain it, I really can’t.

5. OBSESSION BY JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT

Wanna know why I’m avoiding a JLA book? BECAUSE I CAN BARELY FIND IT ANYWHERE. Or, at least, anywhere where it won’t cost me anything but even on iTunes or Amazon it’s not what I’d like to spend on it. Believe me, I want to read this and if I had it I’d be devouring it right now. But because I can’t justify what I’m being asked to pay for it right now I’m basically avoiding it. I want this book but the universe doesn’t want me to have it, apparently.

Well, those are the top books that I seem to be avoiding! Some have better reasons than others but I think it always comes down to the fact that I have the attention span of a squirrel and I can’t keep my attention on something more than 5 minutes. Oh well.
